Basketball Game Preview: Van Bulldogs vs. Sherman Tide

Van is 2-8 against Sherman since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Van Bulldogs will head out to take on the Sherman Tide at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Van is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They were dealt a 75-14 defeat at the hands of Tug Valley. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-3.

Van's loss came about despite a quality game from Hailey Tackett, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Sherman's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a blow against Wirt County, falling 48-19. The contest marked the Tide's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Sherman's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Van, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Van was taken down by Sherman 66-10 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Van was down 31-8.
