Football Recap: Riverdale Comes Up Short

If Riverdale was feeling good fresh off their 54-7 takedown of Kewanee last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rams had to suffer through a 49-21 loss at the hands of the Rockridge Rockets. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 405th, while the Rockets are ranked 102nd).

Having lost for the first time this season, Riverdale fell to 2-1. As for Rockridge, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Riverdale will host Mercer County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rockridge, they are taking a road trip to face off against Erie-Prophetstown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
