Murray has gone 7-1 against Cottonwood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Colts at 3:30 p.m. Murray is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Murray came up short against Stansbury and fell 9-5.

Murray saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lyndee Marshall, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Meanwhile, Cottonwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Granger, falling 13-6.

Gretta Lewis put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 16 batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and nine unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Breeya Busey was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Cottonwood's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Murray, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Cottonwood's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Murray has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Cottonwood, though, as they've been averaging 11.8 hits. Given Murray's sizable advantage in that area, the Colts will need to find a way to close that gap.

Murray took their victory against Cottonwood in their previous matchup on Thursday by a conclusive 21-3 score. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Colts turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
