Basketball Recap: Fountain Central Comes Up Short

Fountain Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. The match between them and the Benton Central Bison didn't end well, with the Fountain Central Mustangs falling 52-36. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 55-45 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Fountain Central's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Benton Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fountain Central will take on Clinton Prairie at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Clinton Prairie will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Fountain Central surely won't give up without a fight. Benton Central has already played their next game (against North Montgomery), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
