Baseball Game Preview: Amboy Clippers vs. Ashton-Franklin Center Raiders

For the second straight game, Amboy will face off against Ashton-Franklin Center. The Clippers will host the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Amboy fell victim to Ashton-Franklin Center and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to the Raiders, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Clippers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Ashton-Franklin Center's part, Brock Lehman was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Lehman is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Chase Near was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

The win (which was Ashton-Franklin Center's third in a row) raised their record to 7-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Amboy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
