Football Recap: South Johnston Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Monday just wasn't the day for South Johnston's offense. They took a hard 15-0 fall against the Union Pines Vikings on Monday. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2018.

Tyler Williams threw for 79 yards on ten of 26 attempts. Jeremiah Riveria was his top target, picking up 33 receiving yards. On the ground, Holt Langston rushed for 40 yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Union Pines to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adrian Colon, who rushed for 98 yards and one TD. Hayne Tobias was another key pass catcher, picking up 115 receiving yards and one score.

South Johnston now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Union Pines, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

South Johnston didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 45-7 win against Southern Lee on the 3rd. As for Union Pines, they have also already played their next game, a 28-12 victory against Harnett Central on the 3rd.
