Football Game Preview: Selma Saints vs. Sipsey Valley Bears + Official Tickets

The Selma Saints will face off against the Sipsey Valley Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Selma has given up an average of 37.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Selma came up short against Shelby County on Friday, falling 38-14. The Saints haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Sipsey Valley not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since August 22nd (when they won 69-6). They took their contest with ease, bagging a 62-28 victory over Montevallo. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-0.

Selma better keep an eye on Isaiah Bennett. He was instrumental in Sipsey Valley's win, rushing for 263 yards and three scores while picking up 14.6 yards per carry, and also picking up 48 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Jayden Howard, who rushed for 76 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries.

Sipsey Valley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 444 rushing yards. They are 5-1 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Selma's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Sipsey Valley, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
