Softball Recap: Encinal Wins Going Away Against Campolindo

Encinal won the last time they faced Campolindo and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Encinal Jets blew past the Campolindo Cougars 12-2. With that win, the Jets brought their scoring average up to 7.5 runs per game.

Cameron Tran made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Tran was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emiko Takemoto, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Isabella Hernandez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Encinal was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Campolindo only posted a batting average of .238.

The victory got Encinal back to even at 2-2. As for Campolindo, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Encinal will be taking part in a tournament against Chowchilla at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Campolindo, they will be playing at home against Design Tech at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
