Softball Recap: Kennedy's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Kennedy came into Thursday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Antelope Titans by a score of 7-4 on Thursday.

Kaylena Ogle made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kira Griffin was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Gia Smith was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Kennedy's record is now 5-6. As for Antelope, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Kennedy has already played their next matchup, a 9-5 loss against Cordova on the 1st. As for Antelope, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 22-1 victory against Grant on the 1st.
