Basketball Recap: Arrupe Jesuit Generals vs. Fort Lupton Bluedevils
Arrupe Jesuit was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Fort Lupton Bluedevils, falling 87-46. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Generals of the 57-24 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Arrupe Jesuit's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Yahir Pizarro, who went 5-for-8 en route to 14 points. Those 14 points gave Pizarro a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mario Cabrera, who posted nine points and six assists.
Fort Lupton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Javon Gonzales out in front who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 assists. Gonzales' evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Royer Bahena also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.
Arrupe Jesuit's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Fort Lupton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Coming up, Arrupe Jesuit will venture away from home to square off against The Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 18th. Fort Lupton has already played their next matchup (against Jefferson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
