Recap: Charles Page Sandites vs. Ada Cougars
The third road contest was the charm for the Charles Page Sandites, as they earned their first road win of the season. They enjoyed a cozy 51-35 victory over Ada on Saturday. For Charles Page, this counts as revenge for the 46-43 loss Ada walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Charles Page's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Deke Thompson led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Thompson's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Kason Evans was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.
Ada's loss came despite strong showings from Carter Colombe and Devon Maccollister. Colombe scored nine points along with eight rebounds, while Maccollister scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keith Cook, who scored six points.
Charles Page's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-3. As for Ada, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charles Page will square off against Bartlesville at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Bartlesville is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Ada and Seminole will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Seminole will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 315th, while Ada is ranked 51st).
