Recap: Amistad Wolves vs. Woodstock Academy Centaurs
The Amistad Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a tough 46-21 defeat at the hands of Woodstock Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Amistad has scored all season.
Amistad's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Johnae McFadden, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds, and LaShaya Patterson who scored five points along with six blocks. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Amistad has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Woodstock Academy, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Amistad will challenge Bassick at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Bassick is ranked 107th, while Amistad is ranked 104th). As for Woodstock Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Fitch at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fitch and Woodstock Academy are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
