Recap: Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes vs. Foundation Christian Academy Panthers
The Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes lost against the Foundation Christian Academy Panthers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Bishop McLaughlin Catholic received a tough blow as they fell 43-26 to Foundation Christian Academy. Bishop McLaughlin Catholic has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Aliana Arana and Keegan Castelli certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Arana scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Castelli scored nine points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Arana is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last nine games she's played. Nataley Noble was another key contributor, scoring four points along with two blocks.
Foundation Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Steffi Chilton, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 steals. Chilton hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Brothers, who scored 14 points along with six steals.
Bishop McLaughlin Catholic's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.5 points per game. As for Foundation Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Bishop McLaughlin Catholic will be playing at home against All Saints' Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Foundation Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Cambridge Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cambridge Christian will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
