Baseball Recap: Providence Grove Takes a Loss

Providence Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 6-3 to the Eastern Randolph Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-2 on Tuesday.

Andrew Thomas was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Jackson Rhyne also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Providence Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Eastern Randolph, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Providence Grove is set to face off against their familiar foe Wheatmore at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Eastern Randolph will square off against rival Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
