Basketball Recap: Benton Central Comes Up Short

Benton Central suffered their closest loss since December 16, 2023 on Saturday. They fell just short of the North Vermillion Falcons by a score of 63-60.

North Vermillion's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Teagan Leonard, who went 5-for-8 on his way to 19 points. Leonard's afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Edwards, who went 6-for-8 en route to 16 points.

Benton Central's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for North Vermillion, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-6.

While Benton Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
