Volleyball Recap: Midlands STEM Charter Comes Up Short

Midlands STEM Charter lost against Great Falls back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mavericks lost 3-0 to the Red Devils. The Mavericks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Midlands STEM Charter was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Great Falls' winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-5, 25-11, 25-12.

Leading Great Falls to victory were Emily Manning and Kenslee Powers. Manning had 21 assists and six aces, while Powers had nine aces and four digs. Those nine aces gave Powers a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Payson Brantley, who had seven kills and four aces.

Midlands STEM Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Great Falls, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Midlands STEM Charter nor Great Falls have any future games scheduled.
