Baseball Recap: Delaware Valley Has No Trouble Against Valley View

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Riverside, Delaware Valley was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Valley View Cougars with a sharp 11-5 victory. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Cougars back in April, they had to take a 7-3 loss.

Delaware Valley got a great performance from Will Fells as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave Fells a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Liam Onofry and Trevor Phillips did most of the damage at the plate: Onofry went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Phillips went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most hits Onofry has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Frank Pedone, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Delaware Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win got Delaware Valley back to even at 8-8. As for Valley View, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

Looking ahead, Delaware Valley will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against North Pocono at 4:30 p.m. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Valley View, they will face off against Crestwood at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
