Football Recap: Denison-Schleswig Monarchs vs. Jefferson Yellowjackets
Denison-Schleswig had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-5 to make it four. They fell 28-15 to the Jefferson Yellowjackets. Monarchs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Yellowjackets since Friday.
As for Jefferson, they now have a winning record of 3-2. The game was the first time they have beaten Denison-Schleswig on their field since August 26, 2016.
Jefferson had a senior duo take command as Jayden Fujii threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns and Mayson Kramer picked up 183 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Kramer really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 77 yards. Jayce Shanno helped Fujii out on the ground, rushing for 70 yards and one score.
Looking ahead, Denison-Schleswig is taking a road trip to challenge Glenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jefferson, they will be playing at home against A-D-M at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
