Baseball Recap: Glenns Ferry Has No Trouble Against Idaho City

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against North Star, Glenns Ferry was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Idaho City Wildcats with a sharp 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Pilots, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Junior Sanchez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Glenns Ferry is 8-3 when Sanchez posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-9-1 otherwise.

In other batting news, Bryce Sterling was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Alan Mesillas, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Glenns Ferry was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They are 7-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory got Glenns Ferry back to even at 12-12-1. As for Idaho City, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.

As of now, neither Glenns Ferry nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
