Basketball Game Preview: Portsmouth Trojans vs. Dawson-Bryant Hornets

The Portsmouth Trojans will take on the Dawson-Bryant Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Portsmouth is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Ironton on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Portsmouth took a blow against Ironton, falling 84-40. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-23.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dawson-Bryant, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Rock Hill by a score of 63-56 on Monday.

Portsmouth's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-9. As for Dawson-Bryant, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 6-9.

Portsmouth strolled past Dawson-Bryant in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 71-57. Will Portsmouth repeat their success, or does Dawson-Bryant have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
