Baseball Recap: Winfield Comes Up Short

Winfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 21st straight loss. They came up short against the Arkansas City Bulldogs, falling 10-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 5-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Winfield saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Barrett McPherson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Drew Stanton also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Winfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-21-2. As for Arkansas City, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-19.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bulldogs beat Winfield by a score of 11-1 later that day.
