Basketball Recap: Simpson Comes Up Short

Simpson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Pleasant Hill Eagles and fell 74-35. While losing is never fun, the Broncos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 344th, while the Eagles are ranked 69th).

Simpson's defeat dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Pleasant Hill, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Simpson will take on Florien at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Florien knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Simpson likes a good challenge. As for Pleasant Hill, they will challenge Westlake at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
