Basketball Recap: BASIS Phoenix Firebirds vs. Highland Prep Honey Badgers
The BASIS Phoenix Firebirds struggled with assists on Thursday (the Highland Prep Honey Badgers had 17 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. BASIS Phoenix took a serious blow against the Honey Badgers, falling 59-18. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for BASIS Phoenix in their matchups with the Honey Badgers: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the defeat, BASIS Phoenix had strong showings from Michael Hervey, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals, and Krish Bhakata, who scored six points.
Kohen Hill was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten steals for Highland Prep. Hill hasn't dropped below two steals for 18 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Paxton Clarke, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
BASIS Phoenix's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Highland Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.
BASIS Phoenix does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Highland Prep will be playing at home against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
