            Volleyball Recap: River Islands Riptide vs. Encina Bulldogs        
        
		
        
        
            River Islands saw some tournament action  on Saturday. They fell  2-0 to the Encina Bulldogs. The Riptide have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Nikhil Raj paced River Islands' offense, picking up five kills. Raj got some help from  Urijah DeOcampo and his six assists.  David Chua controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
 Encina can attribute much of their success to  Yoel Calleja, who  had 24 assists and two  blocks. That's the most  blocks  Calleja has posted  over his last three  matches.
River Islands' loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Encina, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record  this season.
 River Islands has already played their next contest,  a  2-1  victory against Chavez on the 19th. As for Encina, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  matchup,  a  2-1  defeat against Antelope on the 19th.
