Volleyball Preview: Vermilion Sailors vs. Margaretta Polar Bears

The Vermilion Sailors have the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome the Margaretta Polar Bears at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Vermilion will be strutting in after a win while Margaretta will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, it was close, but Vermilion sidestepped Bellevue for a 3-2 victory.

Vermilion's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Delaney Russell led the charge by getting 13 digs. Meanwhile, Margaretta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell just short of Genoa Area by a score of 3-2.

Margaretta took Genoa Area into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 22-25, 22-25, 25-18, 15-12.

Vermilion's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Margaretta, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
