Baseball Game Preview: York Catholic Fighting Irish vs. Hanover Nighthawks

The York Catholic Fighting Irish are taking a road trip to face off against the Hanover Nighthawks at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. York Catholic is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

York Catholic managed to slip by Delone Catholic the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Fighting Irish lost 7-1 to the Squires on Wednesday.

Connor Latrechiano was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and one double.

Meanwhile, Hanover came up short against Biglerville on Wednesday, falling 15-3. The Nighthawks haven't had much luck with the Canners recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Hanover saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carver Alvarez, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

York Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Hanover, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

York Catholic was able to grind out a solid victory over Hanover in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 8-5. Do the Fighting Irish have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Nighthawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
