Volleyball Preview: Narraguagus Knights vs. George Stevens Academy Eagles        
        
		
             The Narraguagus Knights will square off against the George Stevens Academy Eagles at 5:30  p.m.  on Friday.
 Narraguagus is probably headed into the  match with a chip on their shoulder considering Mount Desert Island just ended the team's  15-game winning streak  dating back to last season on Monday. They took  a  3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans.
 Narraguagus took a 1-0 lead headed into the second set, but sadly they lost the next two. After all that action, the final score was 17-25, 25-20, 25-19,  25-16.
 Despite the  defeat, Narraguagus had strong showings from  Eileen Berry, who  had 11  digs, and  Karmen Thompson, who  had six  digs and two  aces. That's the most  aces  Thompson has posted since  back in October of 2023.
 Even though they lost, Narraguagus  was lethal from the service line and  finished the game with 13  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least 13  aces in 16 consecutive  games  dating back to last season.
 Meanwhile, George Stevens Academy didn't have done well against Calais recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Wednesday. George Stevens Academy narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  team sidled past Calais  3-2. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Eagles.
 George Stevens Academy was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (96-94), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 15-25, 26-24, 13-25,  15-6.
 Narraguagus' loss  ended  an  eight-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 1-1. As for George Stevens Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
 Everything went Narraguagus' way against George Stevens Academy when the teams last played  back in October of 2023 as Narraguagus made off with  a  3-0 victory.
