Baseball Recap: Danville Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cascade, Danville was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the South Vermillion Wildcats. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Danville saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Warner, who went 1-for-3 with two runs. Warner has become a key player for the Warriors: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-11 otherwise. Evan Dure was another, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI.

Danville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Vermillion struck out eight times.

Danville's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for South Vermillion, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wildcats beat Danville by a score of 14-8 later that day.
