Volleyball Recap: Camelback Comes Up Short

Camelback was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Apollo Hawks. The Spartans were not able to make up for their loss to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Camelback actually scored more points across those four sets (97-96), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 18-25, 26-24, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Dallyce Wilfert and Devi Baumgartner, who picked up 12 kills apiece. They got some help from Izabella Yun and her 34 assists.

Camelback's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Apollo, they moved to 4-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Camelback and Apollo will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Spartans are set to face off against their familiar foe Cesar Chavez at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Apollo will challenge rival Shadow Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
