Basketball Recap: Graham Comes Up Short

Graham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 50-24 to the Cummings Cavaliers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 38-28 back in December of 2024.

Cummings found their leader in sophomore Laniya Johnson, who posted 20 points. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for Johnson. ZiLazsha Johnson was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Graham's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Cummings, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.

Graham will face off against Chatham Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cummings, they will square off against Northeast Guilford at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cummings is facing Northeast Guilford at the right time seeing as Northeast Guilford is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
