Volleyball Recap: St. Joseph's Winning Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, St. Joseph couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rich Rebels on Saturday. The Jayhawks' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, St. Joseph still got an impressive performance from Sophie Yates, who had 36 digs and two assists. Yates is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 21 or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Rich was led to victory by Paige Smith and Leah Petersen. Smith had 40 digs and three aces, while Petersen had 13 digs and six kills.

St. Joseph's defeat dropped their record down to 21-10. As for Rich, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-11.

St. Joseph didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Tabiona on the 25th. As for Rich, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Panguitch on the 25th.
