Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leslie County). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Owsley County Owls / Lady Owls an 18-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Owls / Lady Owls: they've now won four in a row.
Makayla Campbell made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run. That run was her first of the season.
