Softball Recap: Itawamba Agricultural's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Itawamba Agricultural won the last time they faced Hatley and things went their way on Saturday too. The Indians walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Tigers. The win was nothing new for the Indians as they're now sitting on six straight.

Skylar Partlow was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lana Garrett, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Itawamba Agricultural was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Itawamba Agricultural's victory bumped their record up to 21-3. As for Hatley, with the defeat, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-6.

Itawamba Agricultural is on the road again on Saturday to play Booneville at 12:30 p.m. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 1.3 runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hatley, they will square off against East Union at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Urchins have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
