Baseball Game Preview: Vista Panthers vs. Fallbrook Warriors

For the second straight game, Vista will face off against Fallbrook. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vista's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Fallbrook's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Vista's offense. They fell 5-0 to Fallbrook on Tuesday. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

For Fallbrook's part, not much got past Evan Thomas, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Vista off the board. Thomas also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Warriors are 6-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-9 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Fallbrook saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Teague Lucy, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Fallbrook hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 5-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Fallbrook, bringing their record up to 13-11. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.
