Baseball Recap: Becker Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Becker dropped their record down to 8-9 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the St. Francis Fighting Saints by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fighting Saints this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in April.

Becker saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Fischer, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Griffin Munsch was another, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

As for St. Francis, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch.

On St. Francis' side, Gage Husby looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Husby has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Becker will host Sauk Rapids-Rice at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Francis, they will face off against Princeton at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Fighting Saints 2.2, the Tigers 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
