Baseball Recap: Magoffin County Takes a Loss

Magoffin County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-5 to the Perry County Central Commodores. The Hornets were not able to make up for their loss to the Commodores from their previous meeting back in March of 2022.

Mason Peck and Michael Trusty stepped up to the plate in a big way. Peck scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3, while Trusty scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Chance Risner, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Magoffin County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Magoffin County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Perry County Central, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Magoffin County will take on Leslie County on Friday. As for Perry County Central, they will square off against George Rogers Clark at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
