Volleyball Recap: Ashley Hall Comes Up Short

Ashley Hall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Porter-Gaud Cyclones, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cyclones this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on September 9th.

While Ashley Hall was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Porter-Gaud's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-19, 25-22.

Avery Ryan paced Ashley Hall's offense, picking up eight kills. Ryan got some help from Charlotte Strickland and her 23 assists. Strickland also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Diana Street, each putting up two.

Ashley Hall's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Porter-Gaud, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Ashley Hall will venture away from home to challenge First Baptist School at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Porter-Gaud, they will head out to square off against Charleston Collegiate at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
