Softball Recap: Somersworth Comes Up Short

Somersworth lost against Prospect Mountain back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Toppers came up short against the Timberwolves, falling 18-3. The Toppers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Somersworth saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Pettengill, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

Somersworth now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Prospect Mountain, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Somersworth will take on Kearsarge at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Toppers are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Prospect Mountain, they will face off against Newfound Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
