Volleyball Recap: Crooms Academy Takes a Loss

Crooms Academy lost against Lake Brantley back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Crooms Academy Panthers came up short against the Lake Brantley Patriots, falling 3-0.

While Crooms Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-22, 25-15.

Andrew Atherton paced Crooms Academy's offense, picking up three kills. Atherton were helped by Devon Miller and Blake Shnack, who contributed two assists each. Atherton also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Tim Martucci, racking up two apiece.

Leading Lake Brantley to victory were Andres Pacheco and Efrain L. Rivera Rodriguez. Pacheco had 15 digs and six aces, while Rivera Rodriguez had four digs and three aces.

Crooms Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Crooms Academy has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Winter Springs on the 6th. As for Lake Brantley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Timber Creek on the 6th.
