Basketball Recap: Blacksher Piles Up the Points Against Excel

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Blacksher on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Excel Panthers out of the water with a 56-16 final score. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Blacksher to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gracie Travis, who went 6 of 15 en route to 13 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Emily Rolin was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.

Blacksher was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Excel only posted two assists.

Despite the loss, Excel had strong showings from Kendall Plunkett, who posted five points along with 12 rebounds and five steals, and Camillia West, who earned four points in addition to 14 boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave West a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Greta Tonder, who had three points.

The win made it two in a row for Blacksher and bumps their season record up to 8-12. As for Excel, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-17.

Blacksher does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Excel has also already played their next contest, a 62-19 loss against Monroe County on the 31st.
