Baseball Recap: Mandeville Find Success

Mandeville owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Sam Houston Broncos. For the Skippers, this counts as revenge for the 11-1 victory the Broncos walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.

The result came thanks to Logan McNamara's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Mandeville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Hickman, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Brody Hatchett also deserves some recognition as he stolen his first stolen base of the season.

The win got Mandeville back to even at 3-3. As for Sam Houston, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Mandeville will have a chance to go back-to-back against Sam Houston: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
