Volleyball Recap: Woodville-Tompkins' Undefeated Season over After Four Games

If Woodville-Tompkins was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Savannah last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolverines took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Toombs County Bulldogs on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolverines of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-21.

Arianna Hill had a dynamite game For Toombs County., getting ten digs, six kills, five aces, and one block. Those ten digs gave Hill a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alivia Patrick, who had nine kills and three digs.

Having lost for the first time this season, Woodville-Tompkins fell to 3-1. As for Toombs County, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-4.

Coincidentally, Woodville-Tompkins and Toombs County will both be playing Islands the next time they take the court. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Sharks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Wolverines will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
