Basketball Recap: Lamar's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Lamar lost against Colorado Springs Christian last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lamar Thunder fell 51-43 to the Colorado Springs Christian Lions.

Lamar's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carlin Weber, who posted 12 points. Those 12 points gave Weber a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Robbins, who had eight points and six boards.

Colorado Springs Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rose Ross, who put up 16 points along with six assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Rollins, who earned 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Lamar's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.1 points over those games. As for Colorado Springs Christian, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 20-3.

Lamar and Colorado Springs Christian are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Lamar will challenge DSST: Montview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Colorado Springs Christian, they will welcome Windsor Charter Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Colorado Springs Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.3 points per game this season.
