Basketball Game Preview: Faith Christian Academy Conquerors vs. Trinity Christian Tigers

Faith Christian Academy hasn't had much luck against Trinity Christian recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Faith Christian Academy Conquerors will venture away from home to take on the Trinity Christian Tigers at 6:00 p.m.

Faith Christian Academy is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game last Monday. They were beaten by New Bern Christian Academy 60-32. While losing is never fun, the Conquerors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 511th, while New Bern Christian Academy are ranked 163rd).

Meanwhile, Trinity Christian waltzed into their game on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victor by a 57-33 margin over the Cyclones. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Trinity Christian's win came from a few key players Faith Christian Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Riley Burnham, who went 7-for-11 on her way to 16 points in addition to eight assists and eight rebounds. Marlee Little was another key player, putting up 11 points along with seven assists and six steals.

Trinity Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 26 consecutive matchups.

Faith Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Trinity Christian, their win bumped their record up to 28-5.

Faith Christian Academy was dealt a bruising 64-17 loss at the hands of Trinity Christian in their previous matchup last Friday. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Faith Christian Academy was down 32-10.
