Basketball Game Preview: Ray Texans vs. Bandera BULLDOGS

The Ray Texans will be taking part in a tournament against the Bandera BULLDOGS at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Ray has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with nine straight losses, while Bandera will come in with four straight victories.

Ray is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Gregory-Portland on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Ray might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Gregory-Portland an easy 51-27 win. While losing is never fun, the Texans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1216th, while the Wildcats are ranked 403rd).

Meanwhile, Bandera strolled past Randolph with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 53-37.

Bandera pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points per game. As for Ray, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
