Jaxon Hudson gave up the fewest walks he has since back in March of 2024 on Tuesday. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He is becoming a predictor of Cumby's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-13 when he doesn't).

Hudson's strong effort led Cumby over Yantis and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Owls are limping into the matchup having lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season.
