Softball Recap: Four Straight Road Victories for Lewis County

Lewis County won the last time they faced Hickman County and things went their way on Friday too. The Lewis County Panthers blew past the Hickman County Bulldogs 16-6.

Brailey Carroll made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Carroll was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Clara Tanner and Kinlee Keltner did most of the damage at the plate: Tanner went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Keltner went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Sophie Stutts was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Lewis County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Lewis County pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.2 runs. As for Hickman County, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lewis County will venture away from home to square off against Perry County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hickman County, they will square off against Cheatham County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
