Basketball Recap: North Clay/Clay City Falls Short of Father Mcgivney Catholic in the Playoffs

North Clay/Clay City and Father McGivney Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but North Clay/Clay City had to settle for second. They lost 44-18 to the Father McGivney Catholic Griffins. North Clay/Clay City was not able to make up for their defeat to Father McGivney Catholic from their previous meeting back in December of 2022.

Among those leading the charge was Alexa Jones, who posted seven points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 boards gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Behrmann, who scored eight points.

North Clay/Clay City has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-17 record this season. The win (which was Father McGivney Catholic's fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-11.

North Clay/Clay City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Father McGivney Catholic, they have already played their next game, a 46-27 loss against Brownstown on the 20th.
