Baseball Recap: Garber Wins Going Away Against Timberlake

Garber got themselves on the board against Timberlake on Monday, but Timberlake never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Wolverines have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Easton Bell made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Garber is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 4-5 otherwise. Bell was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colton Steinert, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Garber is undefeated when Steinert posts two or more runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Domingo Ramirez, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Garber always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .640. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Garber and bumps their season record up to 7-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Timberlake, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-7.

Coincidentally, Garber and Timberlake will both be playing Union City the next time they take the field. The Tigers will host the Tigers at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, while the Wolverines will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
