Basketball Recap: Parkersburg Christian Takes a Loss

On Saturday, Parkersburg Christian faced Mount Hope Christian Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Parkersburg Christian took a blow against the Mount Hope Christian Academy Warriors, falling 55-22. Having soared to a lofty 60 points in the game before, Parkersburg Christian couldn't push the score so high this time.

Katlyn Wood was Parkersburg Christian's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Sashlynn Posey held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds. Shianne Posey took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Parkersburg Christian dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mount Hope Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parkersburg Christian will take on Elk Valley Christian in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Mount Hope Christian Academy and Jefferson Christian Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
